Invasion of the Body Snatchers
Dr. Miles Bennell returns to his village practice to discover several of his clients enduring the paranoid misconception that their good friends or relatives are impostors. He is initially cynical, especially when the affirmed dopplegängers have the ability to address detailed questions regarding their victim's lives, but he is at some point persuaded that something strange has actually taken place as well as establishes to figure out exactly what is causing this sensation. This film could be seen as a paranoid 1950s caution versus those Damn Commies or, conversely, as an allegory for the tyranny of McCarthyism (or the totalitarian system of Your Selection) as well as has a pro- and epilogue that was compelled after Siegel by the studio to lighten the tone.
